Our schedule is subject to adjustment as required to meet children’s needs, the weather and age of the children.
NOTE:
1- Every day is a different experience for each child. There is nothing more rewarding than to hear and see a child recognize something they learned.
2- Parents are always aware of what their children are up to, in order to have those memorable conversations of discovery at the dinner table.
Daycare Opens - Free exploration of activities, puzzles, table top toys, play dough.
Nutritious Breakfast - The most important meal of the day with your friends at Sunnyside.
Outdoor Play - Children participate in active play outdoors. We start our mornings with a nature walk, park and splash pad or attend a play group. Children interact with bugs, plants, water, trees and nature.
Snack - Yummy and satisfying snacks provided to help us refuel our bodies.
Circle Time - Children explore the weather, letters, numbers, shapes, sing songs, learn nursery rhymes, and read a story.
Interest Learning Centers - Children explore age appropriate activities in the interest centers. With a choice of: Blocks, paint, arts, science, math, literacy, pre-writing activities, dramatic play, sensory bins, and logic games. I use this time to focus on one-to-one activities with each child.
Free Play - Children choose their own activities and games in the play room.
Lunch - Nutritious family style meals are a great way to expose children to social skills.
Story time and nap time - We read a story together as we cuddle with our lovies and blankets. Children participate in quiet activities such as soothing music, low lights, books or individual toys that promote a restful ambiance.
Crafts - Children participate in various art and crafts activities.
Snack - Yummy and satisfying snacks provided to help us refuel our bodies.
Outdoor play in the back yard - Under a giant tree that shimmers in the breeze, children get to explore our large sandbox "Discovery", "Crabby the water table", The Club Playhouse, cars, balls, trikes, bubbles, side walk chalk etc. They participate in group play such as parachutes, hopscotch, hide and seek etc.
Music and movement - Interactive songs like "The Wheels on the Bus" or "Hokey Pokey", free-style/dance, dance/hop like animals.
Goodbye song and Free Play - Children participate in the closing song and reflection of the day’s activities.
